In Heretaunga Hastings we do a good job of managing our wastewater. We consistently meet our Resource Consent conditions. We’ve even won awards for how we do it! But...it’s something we need to keep reviewing. We’re collecting feedback for the scheduled nine-year review and want to know what you think. Feedback will be presented to the Tangata Whenua Joint Wastewater Committee and used to shape how things are done in the future. Share your thoughts below.

Feedback closes at 5pm on Friday 24 November.
The current consent requires HDC to consult with the community to ‘ascertain their views of the effects of the current discharge’ at least every nine years (in tandem with the nine-yearly consent review). It also requires a community open day to be held in November every year at the plant, to give the community the opportunity to view the plant and discuss the findings of the latest Annual Monitoring Report, as well as submit any written questions.
All feedback from the public will be fed into the nine-year review report.
Yes, we are seeking feedback from all Hawke’s Bay residents.
