Smoking tobacco products kills approximately 4,500 to 5,000 New Zealanders every year. That is around 13 deaths every day caused by smoking or exposure to second-hand smoke.
In 2015, Hastings District and Napier City Councils introduced a joint Smokefree Policy to support the government’s goal of a Smokefree Aotearoa New Zealand by 2025.
To achieve this goal the government has launched a new national Action Plan.
Tell us how we are doing and what we need to consider, especially around smokefree and vapefree areas.
Your feedback is really important. It will be used for updating our existing policy and promoting healthy communities.
The survey closes on Monday, 28 February 2022, 5pm.
