Ron Giorgi III Park Playground upgrade

Ron Giorgi Park MapThe playground on Ron Giorgi III Park is getting a facelift. All of the existing playground equipment has reached the end of its life and is being removed, so we  are starting with a ‘blank sheet of paper’. The mature trees which provide shade are being retained.

We want to create a fun neighbourhood playground that complements the new basketball court; providing additional play options for whānau.

Typically, neighbourhood playgrounds feature three or four pieces of play equipment on a safety surface, and can include things like paths and seating. They commonly cater to younger children and caregivers who live close by, as older children can jump on their bikes and, in Flaxmere’s case, head to Flaxmere Park for things like the bigger climbing frames.

The budget for the project allows for new playground equipment, safety surfacing, extra seating and landscaping. We do welcome all requests, as those that don’t fit within the budget could be considered for other playgrounds in the area, or in future budgets through the Annual Plan process.

Survey closes 5pm 26 November 2021.
