In accordance with Clause 5 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991 the Hastings District Council has prepared a proposed plan change to the Hastings District Plan.
Hastings District Council advises that Proposed Plan Change 3 “Providing for Marae in the Rural Zone and the Plains Production Zone” is now notified for public viewing. Members of the public are able to make formal submissions to the plan change. Proposed Plan Change 3 introduces changes to the following sections of the Hastings District Plan to provide for marae in rural locations as a permitted activity subject to performance standards.

The closing date for submissions is 5pm Friday 12 March 2021
Once any submissions have been received the Council will prepare and publicly notify a summary. There will be an opportunity for anyone to make a further submission in support of, or in opposition to, any of the original submissions. A hearing will then be arranged to consider all submissions and recommendations. Any submitter will have the right to attend and speak at any hearing. Any person who has made a submission has the right to appeal the decision to the Environment Court.
