Class 4 Gambling and TAB Venue Policies

Want to have your say on gambling in our community?

Hastings District Council is consulting on its gambling policies. The policies must be reviewed every three years:

  • Council’s Class 4 Gambling Policy details where and how many gambling (pokie) machines are allowed in the district. It is proposed to adopt a “sinking lid” policy whereby if existing licences cease, they cannot be relocated, which over time would reduce the number of machines in the region. Council will not permit more machines to be added to a venue, nor grant licences for new venues.
  • The policy for TAB venues proposes a cap of one TAB standalone venue in Hastings District.
